How to Connect Goalscape to Claude
Setup takes a minute or two (also shown in the video above).
1. Get a Claude account
Sign up at claude.ai. A Pro or Team plan is required for MCP connections.
2. Open Claude's Settings
Click your profile icon → Settings → Connectors.
3. Add the Goalscape MCP server
Click "Add custom connector", give the connector a name, and enter this as the Remote MCP server URL:
https://goalscape.app/mcp/mcp
Then click Add and Connect.
4. Authorize the connection
Log in with your Goalscape credentials when prompted. This is what gives Claude permission to see and act on your projects.
5. Start a conversation
Try something like:
"Create a Goalscape to organize a team meeting about our Q3 launch."
…and watch the magic happen. Claude will build the goal structure, add notes, set importance, and update progress as the conversation goes on.
That's it. Claude can now see your projects, create goals, add notes, update progress, and work through tasks — all from the chat.
What to Try First
A few prompts to play with:
- Break down a big goal. "Break down 'Launch the new website' into the subgoals a small team would need to execute it. Add rough importance weightings and short notes."
- Get a project review. "Walk through my 'Q3 Strategy' project and tell me where we're behind, what's blocking progress, and which two goals I should focus on this week."
- Catch up after a break. "Summarize what's changed in my 'Product Launch' goalscape in the last two weeks."
- Tidy up. "Go through the 'Marketing' goalscape and mark any completed tasks as 100%. Ask me first if you're unsure."
- Generate a status report. "Draft a one-page status update for the 'Customer Success' project based on current progress and notes, for my Monday leadership meeting."
The pattern: describe the outcome in plain English, let Claude do the work, and check its output in Goalscape's visual map.
A Note About This Beta
We're thrilled to share this, but want to be upfront: this is our first beta release of the Goalscape MCP server. We're learning and improving every day — just like you will be.
- It's early. Expect the occasional rough edge. Your feedback helps us improve fast.
- Your data is processed by Anthropic. When Claude works on your Goalscape projects, your project data is sent to Anthropic's servers. Avoid using it with confidential or sensitive information you wouldn't share with a third party.
- You're always in control. Claude only acts when you ask it to. Nothing happens without your say-so.
Our advice: create a test project, point Claude at it, and just play. Some of our best discoveries came from experimenting — and we can't wait to hear about yours.
